Zephyr Flex

Description

A snorkel corrugate that collapses at depth stops being a snorkel and becomes an obstruction, and Aqua Lung make the point directly: the Zephyr Flex uses a two-material corrugate with a rigid internal skeleton precisely because other flexible snorkels collapse on shallow dives. The lower section still folds out of the way when a regulator goes in, which is the reason for a flexible snorkel in the first place. At the base sits a shaped and protected silicone elliptical purge valve, whose geometry is what makes it seal reliably and clear on a light breath. The joint between mouthpiece and corrugate swivels and seals, so the tube sits where the face wants it rather than levering against the mask strap, and the tube is D-shaped in section to lie flatter against the head. The retainer is oversized for use in thick gloves. It suits a scuba diver who wants a snorkel that stays out of the way.
