Kikx in South Africa

Kikx is a sportswear brand based in Hyde Park, Johannesburg, with the motto Forward. Or Nothing. It makes swimwear, activewear and athleisure, and says its swimwear uses shape-retaining fabrics made to resist chlorine and fading. We carry the swim range: costumes, caps and pool training kit.

Costumes that survive chlorine

Most Kikx costumes are cut from Extra Life, a recycled nylon that Kikx state is ultra chlorine resistant, resists pilling, suntan creams and oils, and is rated UPF 50+. That matters for anyone in a chlorinated pool most days.

For women and girls, the Fastback Swimsuit leaves the shoulder blades free for training, the Thin Strap Swimsuit is the classic cut, and the Double Thin Strap Swimsuit spreads the load over two straps with a criss-cross back. For men and boys, choose by coverage: the Brief for racing and lessons, the Boxer in between, and the Jammer for leg coverage and compression. Caps

Training aids

The Short Training Fin is 100% silicone with a short blade for kick sets, sized from UK 12.5-1 to UK 11.5-12.5. These are pool training fins, not dive fins. The Multi-Grip Kickboard has four handle positions for small or large hands, the Pull Buoy isolates the arms, and the frontal training snorkel takes breathing out of the stroke so you can work on head position.
