Fourth Element 7mm Coldwater Hood

Description

One difference from the standard 7mm hood decides who should buy this one: the collar is shaped to work with drysuits fitted with a warmneck collar rather than cut short for general use. A standard hood leaves a gap at the neck seal that flushes on every head turn; this collar sits inside a warmneck and closes that path. The face seal is Glideskin, a smooth neoprene face that seals against skin rather than gripping it, which cuts the trickle of cold water around the cheeks and forehead. Small perforations at the crown release the air that would otherwise inflate the hood on the way down. Seven millimetres of neoprene cover the skull and neck, which is as thick as Fourth Element build. Sizing spans X Small through 2X Large, black throughout. Divers without a warmneck collar are better served by the standard 7mm hood, which is cut short for wetsuits as well. It suits a drysuit diver with a warmneck collar.
