The segment sits low in the mask, which is the detail that makes these workable. Correction lands exactly where the eyes drop to read a computer or a gauge, and the top of the field of view stays untouched, so distance vision across a reef is no different from before. From outside the mask they are close to invisible. There is no adhesive involved at all: a drop of water between the lens and the inside of the mask is enough for surface tension to hold it, and it peels away cleanly afterwards to be used again. Four strengths cover plus 1.50 through plus 3.00 dioptres. They work equally on sunglasses, ski goggles, swim goggles and safety glasses. Fit them at home and dive them in a pool before anything depends on them, since getting the position right takes a couple of attempts. The myopia version is the equivalent for short-sighted divers. It suits a long-sighted diver who cannot read a gauge.
