Description

Water magnifies by roughly a third, so a short-sighted diver often needs rather less correction in a mask than they wear on land. Worth knowing before choosing a strength, and easy to test, because these come off and go back on as often as needed. A drop of water between the lens and the inside of the mask is all that holds them, and the same lens moves to a second mask later. Six strengths run from minus 2.00 to minus 5.00 dioptres. They are thin and pliable and weigh almost nothing, so they change neither how the mask sits on the face nor how it looks from outside. Against a prescription mask, which costs several times as much and ties the diver to that one mask forever, the case is straightforward. They also fit sunglasses, ski goggles, swim goggles and safety glasses. Fit at home and test in a pool first, since position takes a couple of attempts. It suits a short-sighted diver who wants to see the reef.
