Kinzi Rigging Screw Hook to Eye

Description

A rigging screw, also called a turnbuckle, tensions a stay, lifeline or tie by turning the centre body, and it lets the tension be fine-tuned without re-making the wire. This Kinzi rigging screw has a hook at one end and an eye at the other, so it can be clipped to a fitting on one side and fixed to a shackle, pad eye or ring on the other. The hook is forged from AISI316 stainless steel (DIN 1.4401) with a welded eye, and the finish is matte for a low-glare look on deck. It is sold in six sizes from 5 to 16 mm. The maker notes that the standard safety factor for working load is one quarter of the breaking load. It suits boat owners and riggers who need adjustable tension on lifelines, awning lines and ties. The maker's data gives no working load figures, so the rating for the chosen size should be confirmed before it is used for lifting or load-bearing.
