Mares Volo Race Fins

Description

A long surface swim out to a reef, or a drift dive with a slow boat pickup, soon shows up a fin that only works at one point of the kick. The Volo Race uses the Mares OPB, Optimised Pivoting Blade, which holds the blade at an efficient angle through the whole kick cycle rather than for a moment of it. Thrust stays constant and the legs tire less. Soft longitudinal inserts let the blade deform into a channel that moves more water for the same effort. On a warm-water boat dive the anatomical full foot pocket goes on barefoot or over a thin sock. On a snorkelling day it covers distance along a reef edge without cramping the calves. On that long surface swim back to the boat, the even thrust keeps the pace up without a heavy blade. It suits a diver or snorkeller in warm water who wants a full foot fin with more drive than a basic blade.
