Description

Eighty degrees lights a scene rather than a point, so a diver takes in the reef, the buddy and the way back in one view instead of panning a spot across it. That spread also suits video and stills at close range, where a narrow beam burns a hot centre into the frame. A Cree XPL LED supplies 1000 lumens, with a 50 percent mode alongside full power and burn time reaching 2.5 hours at full output on a 21700 lithium-ion rechargeable cell. The machined aluminium body measures 160 by 45 millimetres and weighs 246 grams without a battery, rated to 150 metres, sealed on double O-rings with an over-pressure valve. A tail push-button is worked in gloves and the extended head shroud keeps spill out of other divers' eyes. This version is sold without battery or charger. A wide beam scatters in turbid water. It suits a night diver or a photographer wanting a flood.
