Onwa AIS MOB Device

Description

A man overboard device sends out a signal the moment a person goes into the water, so the crew can find them quickly. This Onwa AIS MOB device transmits its GPS position over AIS, and the position shows on compatible chart plotters and onboard navigation systems to help the crew locate and recover the person fast. It is small and light enough to mount on a lifejacket, and it has a unique serialised ID, an LED flashing indicator and a buzzer. It runs for at least 24 hours of continuous operation and has a 7 year battery life in storage. It is sealed for immersion to 5 m and has a typical range of 4 nautical miles (about 7 km) with the receiver antenna more than 5 m above sea level. It suits skippers and crew who want AIS-based man overboard protection on their lifejackets.
