R105 Second Stage

Description

A downstream valve opens under pressure rather than closing, so a fault shows up as a free flow at the surface rather than a stoppage at depth. That behaviour, plus a metal valve barrel inside an anti-scratch casing that survives repeated servicing, is why this is the second stage SCUBAPRO put into school and rental work. This is the black-hosed primary build rather than the yellow octopus one. The casing is the compact S620Ti shape, with a dive and pre-dive VIVA switch controlling free flow at the surface, a soft co-moulded purge to clear water and a compact hi-flow mouthpiece that takes a range of mouth sizes. The hose attachment reverses left or right, which suits a pony or deco cylinder. The valve is unbalanced, so inhalation effort rises as cylinder pressure falls. It suits a school, a rental fleet or a diver wanting a cheap serviceable second stage.
