Description

Open-heel fins need a boot, and the boot does as much for comfort as the fin does for propulsion: it pads the foot against the strap, keeps sand and stones out and protects the soles on a rocky walk to the water. Scubatech's 5 mm neoprene boot is the straightforward all-rounder. A side zip opens it wide for getting on and off with cold hands, and a moulded ribbed sole grips on boat decks, slipways and wet rock. Five millimetres of neoprene suits a summer reef trip on the east coast as well as a milder day at an inland site. It also works for a shore dive with a long walk over pebbles. The size run is wide, nine sizes from XXXS to XXL, which helps smaller feet. It suits a diver who needs a first pair of boots to go with open-heel fins.
