Description

Ordinary gloves let cold water pump in and out at the wrist with every hand movement, and that flushing strips away warmth faster than the neoprene can keep it in. Scubatech's semi-dry gloves tackle the wrist first: a double cuff made from 3 mm neoprene with a thin rubber skin seals against the forearm and the suit sleeve, so less water moves through. The body of the glove is 5 mm neoprene lined with jersey, and the grip area is reinforced and coated with anti-slip rubber. They are made to pair with semi-dry and wet suits, and they earn their keep on a long cold dive at an inland site in winter, a deep dive into a thermocline, and a boat day in cold Atlantic water where several dives stack up. Sizing is by palm circumference. It suits a diver who feels the cold in the hands and dives semi-dry or wet.
