Description

A 5.5 mm suit occupies an awkward and useful gap: warmer than the 5 mm most divers own, without the stiffness and buoyancy of a 7 mm, which makes it the sensible thickness for South African water for much of the year. The Wave is Aqua Lung's entry into that band, and it is the suit most often bought as a first owned wetsuit after a season of renting. Aqua Lung do not publish a specification sheet for the Wave in their current international range, so this listing quotes no seam construction, neoprene formulation or seal detail that cannot be verified, and none should be inferred from the Aquaflex or Hydroflex, which are different suits. What is certain is the thickness and the men's cut. That answers a Cape shore dive, a winter boat day, and a diver who feels cold in 5 mm. It suits a diver wanting more warmth without moving to a 7 mm suit.
