About HYDPRO

HYDPRO Classic and Bright Tek LP regulator hoses, matching BCD inflator hoses, and the Power Q01 Code and Stout power inflators. HYDPRO is an Italian maker of underwater air management parts, based in Sori near Genoa, and says it has built these devices for over four decades, including for other diving brands. HYDPRO in South Africa

HYDPRO makes buoyancy, drysuit and hose systems in Italy, at Sori on the Ligurian coast. It describes a single in-house chain from tooling to production, and its parts are built to go into finished systems sold by other diving brands. We carry its hoses and power inflators.

Regulator hoses: Classic or Bright Tek

The Classic LP Regulator Hose uses HYDPRO's Sealed-Skin build, a smooth thermoplastic NBR coat over aramid reinforcement, and suits a diver who wants a plain, supple hose. The Bright Tek LP Regulator Hose has a braided outer that slides without kinking, with the aramid sealed inside polyurethane so the braid doesn't soak up water. It comes in more colours at 80 cm. For length, 80 cm is the usual primary, 100 cm yellow marks an octopus, and 200 cm is a long-hose primary. Both use the standard 3/8 inch UNF first stage and 9/16 inch UNF second stage fittings. See regulator hoses.

BCD inflator hoses

The Classic LP Inflator Hose comes in four lengths from 10 cm for sidemount and compact rigs to 64 cm for a shoulder inflator. The Bright Tek LP Inflator Hose runs 70, 80 and 120 cm. Measure the hose you're replacing and match it, or a loop will hang out and snag. See BCD hoses.

Power Q01 inflators

Both give four progressive inflation levels and a firmer second stage of up to 350 L/min for fast lift on a big wing. The Power Q01 Code has machined metal buttons and internals for heavy use. The Power Q01 Stout uses a polymer core that copes better with cold and scale, in a broad body that's easy to find in thick gloves on cold quarry dives. See technical BCD spares.

Hoses and inflators sit on the air supply, so have them fitted by a qualified technician.

Questions we get asked

Where is HYDPRO made?

HYDPRO is based in Sori, near Genoa in Italy, and describes an in-house chain from tooling to production for its buoyancy, drysuit and hose systems.

Classic or Bright Tek: which HYDPRO hose should I choose?

Classic has a smooth Sealed-Skin cover and is the plain, supple option. Bright Tek has a light braided outer that resists kinking, with the reinforcement sealed so the braid stays dry, and more colour choice.

What length regulator hose do I need?

80 cm is the usual primary on a recreational regulator, 100 cm yellow is common for an octopus, and 200 cm suits a long-hose primary for technical or cave diving.

Will a HYDPRO hose fit my regulator?

The LP regulator hoses have a 3/8 inch UNF male end for the first stage and a 9/16 inch UNF female nut for the second stage, the standard pairing on most regulators.

What's the difference between the Power Q01 Code and Stout?

Both have the same inflation and dump stages. The Code uses machined metal parts for strength; the Stout uses a polymer core that handles cold and scale better and weighs 103 g.
