Cressi Astra 1200 Dive Torch

Description

Charging ports are where dive torches die, because a socket is a hole and sand finds it. The Astra 1200 charges through a magnetic connector instead, which resists sand and salt and has nothing to corrode or flood. Output is 1200 lumens from a CREE XPL2 LED, chosen for colour rendering as much as brightness, so reef colours come back rather than being bleached flat. Three modes are offered, 100 percent, 50 percent and strobe, giving between three and five hours depending on which is used, and a full recharge takes four hours. The body is aluminium alloy at 240 grams, light enough to be carried on every dive rather than only when a torch is expected to be needed. It is IPX8 certified to 100 metres and rated to a one metre drop. That answers a night dive, a wreck interior and a daylight dive under an overhang. It suits a diver who wants a compact torch with real colour rendering.
