Big Squeeze Sheeps Foot Blade

Description

A sheep's foot blade puts the whole cutting edge in contact with what is being cut and ends in a rounded spine rather than a point, which is exactly the geometry wanted for slicing through monofilament or kelp while a hand is working close to a suit. It cuts more efficiently than a blunt tip and carries almost none of the puncture risk of a spear tip. This is the Big Squeeze in that pattern: a 10.8 cm blade, 24.2 cm overall, in 304 stainless steel. The sheath releases only when the moulded grip is squeezed, a deliberate movement that is nearly impossible to make by accident, so the knife stays put through an entry and under a jacket. It mounts to a BCD through grommets, to a belt through a 5.1 cm locking clip, or to leg straps sold separately, and drain holes let it re-sheath cleanly under water. It suits a diver who expects to cut line rather than to pry.
