Description

Most dive knives are stamped from soft stainless that resists corrosion by being too soft to hold an edge. The Kai takes the opposite approach: blade and handle are W1.4060 martensitic stainless at HRC 55/56, a genuine cutlery hardness, which is what allows it to be sharpened properly and to stay sharp. Corrosion is then handled by treatment rather than by softness, with an Idroglider Gold Black surface finish that raises resistance in salt water. The blade has a V-shaped cross section and carries a saw, a line cutter and a loop for a leash, so it covers the jobs a working diver actually meets. It is Italian made and 23 cm overall, supplied with a 1000D ballistic nylon sheath and neoprene leg and arm bands in several sizes. It suits a professional or serious recreational diver who wants a knife that takes a real edge.
