Element Apnea Snorkel Black

Description

On scuba a snorkel is a snag point on the mask strap and a drag on the head, which is the case for one that folds away. This is a soft silicone J-tube that wraps around itself and springs back into shape, so it stows in a BCD pocket and is still there for the surface swim back to the shot line. The barrel is moulded in soft, non-toxic silicone rather than rigid plastic, which is what lets it fold flat without taking a set, and the mouthpiece is the same material. The top is a plain open tube with no dry valve and no splashguard, which drains fast on each ascent, so spearos tend to keep it on the strap. The upper barrel pulls off for divers who prefer a shorter pipe. Weight is about 113 grams, in black. That open top takes water in chop, and there is no purge chamber below the mouthpiece. It suits a scuba, freediving or spearfishing diver wanting a stowable snorkel.
