Description

Finding a switch by eye is impossible on a night dive, which is why the Lumia Plus is built around an asymmetric body: the geometry itself tells the hand where the switch is, so it is found by feel and the torch is worked one-handed. That is a real advantage over circular aluminium torches, which give no feedback on grip position and sometimes need both hands to turn on. The porthole and body are coated in thermoplastic rubber, which extends service life and quietens impact noise, a point that matters for spearfishing where a knock against a rock announces the diver. The switch has three positions: off, on unstable with automatic return, and on. The unstable position allows flashing with a single press, useful for signalling while hunting. Power comes from four AA cells, alkaline or rechargeable, and the electronics hold a constant brightness even as they discharge. The LED is neutral white and the strap adjusts on a slider spring but pulls free in an emergency. It suits a spearfisher or night diver working one-handed.
