MASK STRAP

The Fourth Element Mask Strap is made entirely from recycled materials, and the clips are the part worth knowing about. They are moulded from waste ABS recovered from the automotive industry rather than from virgin plastic.

The strap itself is an elasticated webbing of rubber and recycled nylon, which spreads the load across the back of the head instead of concentrating it on a narrow silicone band. The clips are shaped to fit most mask buckles on the market and every Fourth Element mask. A second triglide clip on the strap takes a snorkel: pull a small loop of elastic through the buckle, push the snorkel through and tighten.

The result is a strap that stops pulling hair and stops slipping, which are the two complaints that follow a silicone strap around. Elasticated webbing also survives being left in the sun far better than moulded silicone does.

Four colourways: black with grey, grey with black, white with grey, and aqua with white. It fits the Navigator, Seeker, Scout and Aquanaut masks directly, and most other brands besides. The snorkel loop takes the Dry, Splash or Float snorkel. Fourth Element publish no weight for it, and it ships without a mask.
