The SCUBAPRO Monorail Weight Pocket Set is the weight system for the Hydros Pro 2, which ships without pockets fitted. Each pocket slides onto the monorail on its side of the BCD and locks there, and it releases single-handed on the grey D-handle.
Two capacities are made. The standard pocket takes up to 4.5 kilograms, 10 pounds, and the mini takes up to 2.3 kilograms, 5 pounds. Both are self-draining, so no seawater is carried up the beach in the pocket. Sets are supplied as a pair, with two sternum link plates in the colour chosen. Standard part numbers run 21.795.010 to 21.795.700 and mini part numbers 21.796.010 to 21.796.700.
The result is a ditchable weight that can be found and released by feel, in gloves, without looking down at a buckle. Sitting on the rail, the pockets keep the lead close to the centreline, which trims better than a pouch hanging off a waist band. Loading is done off the BCD on the deck and the full pocket is slotted in afterwards.
A pair of standard pockets carries 9 kilograms and a pair of minis 4.6, so a diver in a 7 millimetre semi-dry often runs trim pockets on the tank band as well. Eight colours are stocked: all black, white, blue, army green, orange, yellow, pink and turquoise. The set fits the Hydros Pro 2 monorail alone.
