Nuvair O2 Quickstick Nitrox Analyser

Description

A nitrox analyser that lives in a dive bag has to cope with water and knocks, and the Nuvair O2 Quickstick is a sealed, pocket-sized tube with nothing to connect. There are no hoses, adapters or cables; the domed end cover restricts the flow over the sensor, so the cylinder valve is cracked gently and the reading shows on the built-in display. On a dive boat the magnetic on/off switch is waterproof, so spray and wet hands are no problem, and it saves the 9 V battery between checks. On a liveaboard week the anodised marine-grade aluminium body takes the knocks of a busy kit bench. The thermally compensated electrochemical sensor reads 0 to 100% at 0.1% resolution and reaches 90% of its final value in under six seconds. Both the battery and the sensor are user-replaceable, and Nuvair quotes about 36 months of sensor life in air. A screw-together protective sleeve comes in the box. It suits recreational nitrox divers who want a rugged analyser of their own without a flow kit.
