Suunto MC-2 Mirror Compass

Description

A sighting compass takes a bearing to a distant mark with more accuracy than reading across a dial, and the mirror allows it to be done while watching the needle. The MC-2 is an advanced mirror compass with a fast, globally balanced needle on a jewel bearing, so it works in any hemisphere. It has a sighting hole and notch for accurate bearings, adjustable declination correction, a 20 degree tilt margin for easier readings and a clinometer. Luminescent markings support low light work, and the baseplate has a magnifying lens, metric UTM scales and an inch ruler. The mirror can also be used for signalling. It measures 65 x 101 x 18 mm and weighs 75 g, and it is made in Finland with a limited lifetime warranty. It suits a skipper, mountaineer or surveyor who needs precise bearings.
