Aropec in South Africa
Aropec Sports describes itself as a scuba diving equipment manufacturer. It's based in Taichung, Taiwan, and its range runs from wetsuits and BCDs to spearfishing, surf and swim gear. We carry the small hardware that keeps a rig working: cylinder boots, surface signalling, a reel and stainless fittings.
Cylinder boots
A cylinder base is domed, which is why a cylinder won't stand steady on its own and why the base takes the knock when it falls. A boot gives it a flat footprint on moulded feet, with gaps that let water drain rather than sit against the steel. Choose by base diameter, not capacity. The Boot for 10L fits a 10 litre, and the Boot for 12L Short and 15L fits both because they share a base diameter. A taller 12 litre may take a different boot, so check before you order. Pull the boot off now and then and rinse underneath.
Getting seen and sending a buoy up
The Signal Tube with Inflator is the large size, 15.3 cm across and 183 cm long in high-visibility orange, for showing the skipper where you are at the end of a drift dive. The Dive Reel 50m White carries 50 m of white line on a compact spool, 8.5 cm across, small enough for a BCD pocket, for sending a delayed SMB up from the safety stop.
Stainless weight belt parts and D-rings
The Stainless Steel Buckle is a three-slot hinged lever buckle, a metal replacement for a cracked plastic one; check the fit against your webbing first. The Stainless Weight Belt Keeper with D-Ring grips the belt with toothed slots, so a keeper either side of each block stops weights creeping towards the buckle, and the ring gives you a clip point. The Stainless Steel D-Ring and the Stainless Steel Bent D-Ring are #304 stainless steel in 5 mm and 6 mm thickness, both 50 mm long. The bent ring has a 160 degree bend that angles it off the webbing, which makes clipping easier in thick gloves. Browse more in cylinder nets and boots and clips and attachments.

Which Aropec cylinder boot fits my cylinder?
Boots fit by base diameter, not capacity. The Boot for 10L fits a 10 litre, and the Boot for 12L Short and 15L fits both of those; a taller 12 litre may need a different boot.
Should I choose a straight or a bent D-ring?
A straight ring lies flat on the webbing. The bent ring is angled off the strap by a 160 degree bend, which makes it easier to find and clip in thick gloves.
