Description

On a breath-hold descent the air used to equalise a mask comes out of the lungs, so internal volume is a direct cost in depth and time. The Atom is built to cut it as far as the construction allows. It is frameless, and rather than hanging the lenses on an external plastic frame it co-moulds a stiff core inside the silicone skirt, which supplies the rigidity a frame would while removing the volume a frame creates. The nose pocket is shaped with two small cavities set where the nostrils fall, so fingers reach the nose to equalise without pushing the mask off the face, and it stays put through repeated equalisation on the way down. Two lenses rather than one keep the glass close to the face. It suits an experienced freediver or spearfisher who wants the least mask possible.
