Valve Insert O-Ring

Description

The insert in a cylinder valve outlet is sealed by an o-ring, and that small rubber ring is the part that keeps the connection between the valve and the regulator airtight. Over time it flattens, nicks or perishes, and a leak at the insert shows up as bubbles around the regulator connection when the valve is opened. Replacing it is routine maintenance and it is sold here as a single replacement ring in two sizes. Small and large are offered so the ring can be matched to the insert it is going into. Check the old ring against the new one before fitting. Lightly lubricating it with a lubricant made for oxygen-clean dive equipment helps it seat without rolling. Work on cylinder valves should be done by a qualified cylinder technician, and the cylinder must be empty of pressure before anything is removed.
