Big Blue AL450 Strobe

Description

Running on three AAA alkaline cells rather than a rechargeable is the whole point of this strobe. A marker light is the one item that must work when it is reached for, and on a remote trip a shop-bought AAA is available where a proprietary charger is not. It throws 450 lumens across a 270 degree beam, so it is visible from almost any angle rather than only from in front, and it runs 12 hours, which covers a full day of diving without a thought. At 168 grams with cells fitted it clips to a cylinder valve or a shoulder strap and is forgotten. The LED is 6500K cool white, in an anodised aluminium alloy housing tested to 100 metres, sitting 76 grams negative. That answers a night dive, a shot line and a surface wait after dark. It suits a diver who wants a marker that runs on batteries they can buy anywhere.
