Description

Most 3000 lumen torches need a canister or a fat body to hold the cells. The D710 gets there on a single 21700, which is what keeps it inside a 155 millimetre tube that stows on a harness rather than hanging off it. A Luminus LED behind a 6 degree reflector puts nearly all of that output into a narrow column, measuring 17,204 candela and carrying 308 metres on land, so it signals across a wreck rather than lighting the water in front of it. Four levels run off the titanium alloy side switch: turbo at 3000 lumens, high 1700 for 1 hour 40, medium 800 for 3 hours 40 and low 400 for 7 hours 40, which covers a full night dive on one charge. A battery indicator in the switch reports charge before the dive, a safe lock stops it firing in a packed bag, and over-heat protection steps output down rather than cooking the head. It suits a diver wanting canister output from a single-cell torch.
