OrcaTorch SD01 Pro

Description

A torch shows where a diver is looking, not where they are, so a buddy who turns away simply disappears. A marker beacon solves the opposite problem, and the SD01 Pro puts nearly all of its design into doing that for as long as possible: 70 hours of flashing on a single AAA cell, or 37 hours constant, from a tube 77.5 millimetres long and 19 millimetres across. Two modes run off the tail, constant on or a 1.5 hertz flash. Clipped to a cylinder valve or a BCD shoulder it stays visible from behind and above, which is where a buddy actually is. Five colours mean a group of four each carry a different one and are told apart at range without signalling. It is rated to 150 metres, well past any depth a marker will see. It is not a torch and does not light anything. It suits a diver who wants to be found on a night dive.
