SD03

Description

Carrying one beacon per colour is how a harness fills up. The SD03 puts four colours and eight modes in a single body, changed by twisting it, with a memory that returns to the last setting used. Each colour runs constant or flashing, which is where the eight modes come from, so a group can set a different colour at the shot line, switch to flashing for the ascent and use the constant setting as a reading light for a slate or a gauge if a primary fails. The shell is a transparent plastic chosen for light transmission rather than strength, so the whole body glows rather than throwing a beam from one end. That is also the trade behind its 100 metre rating, shallower than the 150 metres OrcaTorch give their aluminium lights. A silicone ring gives grip in gloves and a tail D-ring takes a lanyard or bolt snap. Power is one AA or 14500 cell, not supplied. It suits a diver who wants one beacon instead of three.
