Description

Pointing at something underwater almost never works, because a finger gives a direction and not a target. A green laser gives the target: the D560-GL delivers a 5 milliwatt beam at 520 nanometres, which the particles in the water render as a visible line rather than a distant dot, so a buddy sees exactly what is being indicated. It is worth being clear that this model is the laser alone, with no white beam, which is what keeps it small and what makes its runtime remarkable: 6 hours on a 14500 cell or 2 hours 36 on an ordinary AA. Beam distance is 1000 metres on land. It measures 92 by 20 by 25.5 millimetres, uses a mechanical rotary head switch with nothing to flood, and is rated to 150 metres and a 1.5 metre drop. It suits an instructor or guide directing divers rather than lighting them.
