Big Blue GoPro Hot Shoe Adapter

Description

A GoPro has no hot shoe, and a camera housing that does has nowhere obvious to put a GoPro. This adapter joins the two, mounting a GoPro to a hot shoe so the action camera rides on top of a stills housing and records the whole dive while the photographer works. That is a genuinely useful arrangement, because it costs nothing in handling and produces footage that would otherwise need a second diver. It also works the other way, giving a GoPro rig a hot shoe mounting point for a light or accessory. Using the shoe keeps everything compact, with nothing projecting past the housing to catch on a line. That answers a photographer who also wants video, a diver documenting a dive alongside stills and a compact travel rig. It suits a photographer carrying a GoPro alongside a camera.
