Split Ring Quick-Release Lanyard

Description

A torch or slate clipped straight to a D-ring has to be unclipped every time it is used, and that is the moment it gets dropped. This lanyard separates the two jobs: a stainless steel split ring holds the accessory permanently, while a quick-release buckle in the webbing lets it come away from the harness in one pull and clip back afterwards. On a night dive it keeps a backup torch tethered to the BCD yet free to point into a crack in the reef. On a shore dive a slate or compass comes off to be read and goes back without a fumble at a clip gate in cold water. On the boat it keeps a small camera or a set of keys attached while kit is being assembled. Two connectors are offered: a stainless carabiner clip for a firm hold on a D-ring, or a lighter plastic bolt snap that cannot corrode. It is a retaining lanyard for small accessories, not a load bearing tether. It suits a diver who wants small kit attached but still usable.
