M03 BALL JOINT

The OrcaTorch M03 Ball Joint is the mount that puts a video light on a camera arm, screwing into the light body and presenting a standard one inch ball for a clamp to close on. It fits the D810V, D900V and D910V.

The ball is the industry standard size, so an M03 joins OrcaTorch lights to arms and clamps from any maker without an adapter. It bolts directly to the light rather than clamping around the tube, which counts on the larger video heads where a tube clamp would have to grip a 45 millimetre body under the weight of a 430 gram light. The joint is aluminium throughout.

The result is a video light that stays aimed. A clamp closing on a machined ball holds position under the drag of a swimming diver, where a friction fit on a smooth tube will creep and leave the beam pointing at the sand by the end of the dive.

Supplied as the ball joint alone. A ZJ13 clamp is needed to join it to an arm or a tray, and both are listed separately alongside the H02 camera tray. For lights outside the D810V, D900V and D910V, the ZJ18 bracket clamps bodies of 23 to 27 millimetres instead.
