OrcaTorch M03 Ball Joint

Description

A clamp gripping a smooth tube will creep under the drag of a swimming diver, and a video light that started the dive aimed at the subject finishes it aimed at the sand. The M03 removes that by bolting into the light body rather than clamping around it, presenting a machined one inch ball for an arm clamp to close on, which holds position rather than relying on friction. That matters most on the larger heads, where a tube clamp would have to grip a 45 millimetre body carrying a 430 gram light. It fits the D810V, D900V and D910V. The ball is the industry standard size, so it joins OrcaTorch lights to arms and clamps from any maker without an adapter, and the joint is aluminium throughout. For lights outside those three models, the ZJ18 bracket clamps bodies of 23 to 27 millimetres instead. It is supplied as the ball joint alone. It suits a photographer mounting a video light that has to stay aimed.
