Orca Knife

Description

There is a category of diving where the knife is a tool rather than safety equipment, and for that work size and mass are the specification. The Orca is deliberately heavy and large at 30 cm, forged in special steel, and it has been in the range long enough to have become a collector's item without ever stopping being useful. The blade carries a smooth edge on one side and a partly serrated edge on the other, with a line cutter set at the handle end of the serrated side, so cutting line does not require the point. The handle is anatomically moulded with finger recesses in a soft non-slip grip material, and it ends in a chrome-plated knob that doubles as a hammer for tapping and signalling. It is not a knife to carry unnoticed. It suits a working diver, or a diver who wants a genuine tool rather than a token blade.
