H2O Compass Pro Bungee

Description

A compass card only reads correctly when it can swing level, and one tilted on a loose strap gives a wrong bearing with no warning that it is doing so. Holding the compass flat against the arm is the whole job of the mount, and a bungee does it better than a strap: nothing to buckle with the other hand, it works over a drysuit, and it takes up the slack as a wetsuit compresses at depth where a buckled strap loosens and has to be pulled tight again mid-dive. On a shore dive in poor visibility the difference is swimming back to the entry point rather than making a long surface swim, and a digital compass in a computer is no substitute once the diver is tilted. Wear it on the opposite forearm to a dive computer so neither obscures the other. Set the bezel on the surface before descending, and take a reciprocal before turning back. It suits a diver navigating on a shore dive.
