Apeks DS4 1st Stage DIN

Description

A first stage bought on its own is usually going onto a rig that already has second stages, so what matters is the port layout and the sealing rather than the badge. The DS4 has a precision machined body carrying four medium pressure ports and one high pressure port. On a single cylinder rig those four cover the primary, the octopus, the inflator and a drysuit feed with nothing left stranded. On a computer equipped rig the high pressure port takes a transmitter in place of a gauge. On a cold water dive the environmentally sealed dry chamber keeps water off the main spring, and the over balanced design raises intermediate pressure with depth so the second stage keeps up. A dust cap protects the inlet between dives. This is the DIN fitting. It suits a diver building or rebuilding a rig around Apeks second stages, and it is the first stage under the XTX40 and ATX.
