Poseidon Xstream Octopus

Description

Poseidon's position is that an octopus should be as powerful and reliable as the primary regulator, so the Xstream octopus is the exact second stage used on the Xstream primary, with only the colour of the exhaust cover changed. It is an upstream design fitted with a safety valve that keeps the pressure inside the second stage at a level that still allows normal breathing if a failure occurs. Poseidon states that in that unlikely event the regulator does not free flow and continues to breathe normally without a massive loss of gas. During a gas-sharing ascent on a deep dive, that means the backup regulator behaves like the primary. For a diver already using an Xstream first stage and primary, it completes the set with an identical second stage. It suits an Xstream regulator owner who wants an octopus with the same performance as the primary.
