LIFELINE ASCEND REEL 30M
The Apeks Lifeline Ascend Reel carries 30 metres of 1.6mm round braided polyester line on an impact-resistant Delrin 100P acetal body and spool. Thirty metres suits recreational depths, where the reel is used to send an SMB up from a safety stop or to run a short ascent line.
Thirty metres is the limit rather than the recommendation. A diver deploying from deeper than that needs the 60 metre version, because a reel that runs out of line while the buoy is going up is a problem that resolves itself by taking the diver with it.
Available in orange and grey. Delrin is used for the body because it survives the knocks a reel takes out of the water rather than in it.
