Description

Photographers who want white, red and ultraviolet usually carry three lights and swap them in the water. The D710V MK2 puts all three arrays in one head, so a night dive, a careful approach on a shy subject and a fluorescence hunt run off the same torch. The MK2 lifts white output 30 percent over the original and triples the ultraviolet emitters from one to three. White gives 2300 lumens for 1 hour 20 on high and 750 for 2 hours 40 on low, red 150 lumens for 4 hours 10, and ultraviolet 10 lumens for 2 hours 30, all across a 120 degree beam. Red matters because it lets a diver close on an animal that white light would send into a hole, and the ultraviolet array brings out fluorescence in coral that reads plain brown by day. Power is one 21700 USB-C cell of 5000 milliamp-hours. It suits an underwater photographer who would otherwise carry three separate lights.
