Description

A macro shot, a wide reef shot, a careful approach on a shy animal and a fluorescence hunt each want a different light source, and swapping torches mid-dive is not an option. The D900V carries four in one head, neutral white flood, cool white spot, red and ultraviolet, on two titanium switches so the sources run independently rather than through a single mode cycle. That independence is the point: a red focusing light can be held while the white stays off. Neutral white flood gives 2200 lumens for 2 hours 45 and 600 for 4 hours 20; the cool white 8 degree spot gives 820 lumens for 4 hours and 250 for 18; red runs 7 hours at 250 lumens and ultraviolet 5 hours. Beam intensity is 13,640 candela reaching 230 metres on land. The 11.1 volt pack holds 38 watt-hours across three 18650 cells and charges magnetically in 2 hours 30. It suits an underwater photographer working several kinds of shot on one dive.
