OrcaTorch in South Africa
OrcaTorch was founded in 2014 by Carson Weng, who came from high-end flashlight manufacturing, and the company is based in Shenzhen, China. The range is lighting only: primary and backup torches, video lights, batteries and mounts. The D710's 21700 cell charges over USB-C, so no separate charger has to travel.
Choosing a torch
The D710 puts 3000 lumens into a narrow 6-degree beam from a single 21700 cell, in a 155 mm body that stows on a harness. The D570-GL pairs a 1500-lumen white beam with a green laser that shows as a straight line underwater, which helps when pointing something out to a buddy. For photography, the D710V MK2 combines white, red and ultraviolet in one head. See torches and dive lights and video lights.
Warranty and spares
OrcaTorch replaces a light with a manufacturing defect within 30 days and repairs it free within 12 months, and registering the light on OrcaTorch's site adds a year, accessories excluded. Spare 18650, 21700 and 26650 cells, mounts and straps are in torch accessories. Items marked Special Order are ordered in after purchase.
